I want to start off by explaining the infrequency of my posts. I read a lot of blogs and people blog about everything. From politics to journaling their daily activities to keeping the world informed on what their cats are up to. I believe in blogging on things that are less stereotypical. I blog on things that make people laugh. I blog on things that might inform the reader on a particular topic. I blog because I love to write. A lot of people used to keep journals or diaries. I did. Problem is I don't have them anymore. It would be nice to read my old journals and relive some of the situations and feelings I had when I wrote them down. I journaled about how I felt spending Christmas Eve alone in a field ambulance, supporting a tank gunnery exercise in Korea. It was a way to get things off my chest and helped me understand what I was feeling at the time.
I think people blog for several reasons. To rant or rave a particular subject or experience in their lives. To keep people informed on the progress of something their working on. And then, to tell the whole world that they are someone and to pay attention to what they have to say. That they have a responsibility to society to tell them what is right and what is not.
I enjoy reading blogs. I agree there a lot of them, like this one, that have no impact on anyone or anything in the world.... But no one is paying us to write them anyway. Isn't that what makes them fun?
