V. Honor Thy Mother and Thy Father

I want to give some sort of reason or explanation as to why I haven't written anything in several months.

Christmas Eve, my Father came down with what I still call a form of influenza. Fever, chills, other flu-like symptoms. I explained to push fluids and treat the symptoms.
On December 26th, my sister, who lives with my Father, called me around 7AM and said that Dad was getting worse and was asking for me. I said I would be right there. I arrived around 9AM and saw that even though I still believed influenza, decided that I could not transport Dad to the hospital. An ambulance was called for transport to the local hospital. She rode with the ambulance, I followed in my car.

Dad was placed in ICU and after a couple of months in the hospital was released to a rehabilitation facility. That is where he is now. Gaining strength and recovering from two months in bed. Re-learning basic functions we all take for granted, like feeding yourself. He's fine and getting there. Shouldn't be too much longer till he's home once again. You can't keep an old New York Irishman down... too long.

Anyway, I've been there with him, day in and day out. Also working and maintaining my own house and putting around 200 miles a day on my car. It has taken it's toll. But, his prognosis is very good and I'm ready to get back in the saddle once again.

Hell, it's March already!

sorry to hear about your dad -glad he is doing better it is so hard to watch them go thru that!
I was honestly thinking when you mentioned your weight loss and all that it had something to do with matters of the heart.
I have found the best diet is falling in love with someone or worse...finding someone has fallen out of love with you.
